The Pre-Kinder has been a part of the School of Excellence in Education since its inception September 1998 but was housed with all of the elementary students. In April 2005, the SEE Pre-Kinder Academy was relocated to 3711 Capitol Avenue on August 22, 2005 with an enrollment of 118 students. The school consisted of a principal, assistant principal, 5 teachers, 5 teacher assistants, 1 custodian, and 2 cafeteria workers.

On October 24, 2006 our name was officially changed to Judge Carmen Kelsey Pre-Kinder Academy. It was named after Judge Carmen Kelsey who has served as Judge of the 289th Judicial District Court here in San Antonio.

We have a full curriculum including Circle Time, Language Arts, Math, and Science. We use Scholastic Resources, Leap Frog Resources and the Science Discovery Kit.

We currently have 88 students, a principal, 4 teachers, 4 teacher assistants, 1 custodian, and 1 cafeteria worker.

Our school hours are Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. We also have an After School Care program here on the campus from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. The cost is $20 per week, per child.
